ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEY IV

Salary range:  $84,321 - $160,000                    FLSA:  Exempt

The DeKalb County Law Department is seeking attorney applicants with at least six years of experience in local government law or civil litigation for the position of Assistant County Attorney IV.  Experience in the areas of employment law, open records, tax appeals or animal control matters is preferred. 

Essential Functions: 

Attorneys in this position are required to provide advice and representation for the County and assigned departments and officials in litigation and non-litigation civil matters. Attorneys in this position are required to have demonstrated ability to work independently on complex matters, with little supervision. This position requires in-person work in the County’s offices, in court, and in other locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Juris Doctor degree; six years of relevant experience as an attorney working on civil matters.    

Special License or Certification Required:

Must be an active member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia; must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
