POSITION TITLE: Temporary Parks Maintenance Worker FY27-24

DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation

ENTRY SALARY: $19.22 per hour, no benefits

JOB SUMMARY: This position assists in the maintenance of county parks and facilities. Assists in the
maintenance of county parks, athletic fields, and related facilities; performs turf management duties; prepares
athletic fields for play. Participates in landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming weeds, and flower
bed installations of mulch/rock. Removes litter and debris from playgrounds, parking lots, pavilions, and other
park facilities; empties trash receptacles. Performs janitorial duties to include cleaning/restocking restrooms,
operating floor machine. Assists in preparing for tournaments, special events, and programs. Trims, removes,
and provides care for trees, bushes, and ornamental plants. Inspects playground and reports maintenance needs
to supervisor. Assists in the repair and maintenance of tools and equipment. Performs minor carpentry,
plumbing, and electrical repairs. Assists in repairing of irrigation systems. Performs related duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level
commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. No experience requirements. Possession
of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or
equipment operated.
