POSITION TITLE:   Athletic Aide – Part Time (20 hours per week) FY27-07

DEPARTMENT:      Parks and Recreation

ENTRY SALARY:    $18.29 per hour, plus prorated benefits

JOB SUMMARY:    This position provides support for athletic programs. Implements athletic events within
established guidelines to meet the recreational needs of a diverse population. Assists in team drafts and
selection activities to ensure equality among teams. Coordinates and participates in recruitment, training, and
scheduling of volunteer coaches; ensures background checks are conducted on all volunteers; coordinates
and/or implements umpire and officials training programs; conducts rules meetings. Implements practice and
game schedules; administers registration; assists in scheduling facility usage for programs; locates alternative
areas for activities; monitors and evaluates athletic activities; assists in managing crowd control at events.
Assists in managing equipment inventory; ensures the proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment; oversees
the issue and return of equipment; demonstrates equipment use. Assists with event set-up and break-down;
supervises tournaments. Assists in maintaining park, fields, and facilities; marks field lines as needed; assists in
cleaning and routine maintenance activities. Monitors the activities and behavior of customers; enforces
compliance with policies, procedures, and safety rules. Conducts registration for athletic programs. Administers
First Aid and emergency procedures as needed; completes injury reports. Performs janitorial duties as needed.
Performs related duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level
commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. No experience requirements. Possession
of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or
equipment operated.
