POSITION TITLE:   Accountant FY27-02

DEPARTMENT:      Finance

ENTRY SALARY:    $27.16 per hour, plus benefits

JOB SUMMARY:    This position performs assigned accounting functions in support of the county’s financial operations. Receives and processes revenue from county departments and prepares bank deposits. Processes accounts receivable as assigned. Reviews and sorts payroll checks. Assists in the preparation of annual budget. Reviews account payable checks. Reconciles bank accounts as assigned. Reconciles special revenue funds, trust funds, and enterprise funds as assigned. Assists with annual audits. Prepares journal entries. Processes unclaimed funds for enterprise funds. Prepares a variety of financial reports. Processes trust draws as assigned. Performs related duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
